About Our Club

As the population grows in the back mountain area so does the need for ways to entertain ourselves. HI LITES MOTOR CLUB was originally developed and has continued to grow in a large part because of this need. The club idea arose from a few old friends getting together and talking about their rides and having some way to enjoy their love of vehicles in their own area close to home without having to go down town. Each one of these people has had some involvement in a car club in the past. The main problem for all involved was the need to go to the valley, down town, Wilkes Barre and the surrounding area for a place to show your stuff. "Wouldn't it be great to have a club right here in the Back Mountain one of the present people there stated." A resounding, "Yes lets do it" from all present, HI LITES MOTOR CLUB at that point crossed form an idea to reality in an flat skinny minute. The club found a home base almost immediately in Pikes Creek Park, Pikes Creek PA, a few miles west of Dallas on Rt. 118 or a 10 minute ride up Rt., 29 from Rt. 11. The members of the HI LITES MOTOR CLUB meet the first Wednesday of each month (with the exception of January, hey we need a break too) at Pikes Creek Park, 7:00 PM. Pikes Creek Park has been there for the club from the very start, their support has proven invaluable. Pikes Creek Park donates a meeting place for the club each month. The club also holds a cruise once a month, at the park as well as other locations throughout the area. As a schedule becomes available you will find it posted on this web sight. You can also watch for club events in the Times Leader, Weekender, or on HI LITES MOTOR CLUB flyers posted at businesses throughout Northeast PA. The owners of the park Dan and Karen always come up with some fun door prizes on cruise night as well, go cart ride tickets, miniature golf tickets etc. The HI LITES MOTOR CLUB & PIKES CREEK PARK, along with the BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, NORTHEAST COUNCIL will be putting on their 4th annual full motor sports show at Pikes Creek Park this coming summer, August 10, 2003 The members in this club are very serious about their rides and serious about their club. That's where serious stops, we also like to have a lot of fun at all of our events. You can always count on some good tunes flowing out of the pa system. We have lots of door prizes and always some surprises. Everyone, kids and adults alike are all invited to have a good time. Yes come one, come all, and bring the children.
